Internet detox

I know I've been slacking on the posting lately. I know, I know. My excuse is a combination of me being completely obsessed with redecorating my condo (seriously, like can't think about anything else and staying home to paint instead of hitting the bars type of obsession) and not really going online in the evenings lately. I spend all day at work in front of a computer so the last thing I want to do with my free time is have my face in front of a computer screen. I found myself starting to get sick of the internet, so I think that means I was spending too much time online? Blogging, reading blogs, shopping, tweeting, tumbling, yada yada. It's all a bit much and it makes my head hurt. Gotta get rid of the mind clutter! And I have to say, deleting facebook a few months ago was wonderful. It's like I cleaned out that area of my brain that is filled with useless information that I never really wanted to know. Goodbye photos of friend's ugly baby who I haven't seen since middle school. Goodbye corny engagement photos that look like they came out of a book with Fabio on the cover. Hello peaceful mind with more room for creativity!

So, I've gone through a sort of detox period, cleaned out my bookmarks (a tough task but I narrowed it down to just my favorite fashion/music/design/food blogs) and now I'm back and ready to blog again! I have a lot of photos to post from the past month, including photos from my the MGMT show and some yummy food photos from when my lovely friend Jess came to visit. And hopefully in a few months I'll have a post with the before and after of my condo redecoration!

The above photos are just a few randoms from this summer. Sipping on sangria at Jazz in the Sculpture Garden is our new favorite Friday activity and we checked out Frozen-yo the other day. Frozen yogurt with a do-it-yourself toppings bar?? Yes, please.

Hello, hello! I know I have been really MIA lately, and the only excuse I have is that it's SO DAMN HOT...how can you expect me to blog in this heat? I know that makes no sense. The real reason is I've really been trying to avoid the computer when I'm not at work. It's a major time-sucker and there are better ways to spend the summer. Lately, the heat has been so unbearable that my evenings consist of one of two options: laying in the grass with the dogs and a book (we prefer the front lawn of the capitol, lots of shade and cushy grass) or sitting in an air conditioned bar. For the past week it's been a lot of grass time because I've refused to leave the little buckster's side. You see, last weekend he was attacked by 3 (!!) rottweilers and I've been nursing him back to health ever since. It was all very traumatizing for us and Buckley is now even more attached to me than ever. Poor little guy. Thankfully Nani was able to break free from her collar and run to safety. Things could have been a LOT worse for both doggies.

Hopefully this summer will pick up and I'll return with more updates soon. Until then...

I'm a bit late in posting these photos, as they are from our day trip to get inked in Baltimore over a month ago. We started our day at Saints & Sinners in Fells Point where I got my second piece of artwork. Next we had lunch at Riptide by the Bay (mmm crab) followed by dessert at Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop. By dessert I mean cookies, gelato and cake. Oh, yeah. I managed to restrain myself and filled the cookie bag only half way. Progress! We spent the rest of our day walking around and visiting with Zack's fam (he's a Bmore native). It was a lovely day and I don't understand why DC people don't visit our neighbor's to the north more often.

Question! How do we feel about the borders around the photos? I can't decide. See previous posts for examples of no border.

"Beach Town" - Le Loup

Spent the last weekend in VA beach. I really wasn't in the picture taking mood, but here is some visual proof of my vacay. Not much to report from the long weekend besides the fact that I could go an entire lifetime without seeing another Corona. (Psh, yeah right)

Just some random images from this spring/summer. I'd write more, but I'm watching my love Clint Dempsey kick some Algerian bum. OH I LOVE THIS MAN.
